Cucumis myriocarpus
This is an annual climbing herbaceous plant up to 2 m in length. The leaves are cordate, five-lobed, pubescent below; the flowers are less than 2 cm in diameter, bright yellow, bisexual. It blooms from July to September, and from August the fruits are set, similar to both gooseberries and watermelon. The spherical fruits, rarely more than 3 cm in diameter, are brightly coloured with distinct black and green stripes and covered with soft, scattered spines.
